A while ago I wrote an article on the effects of the Chernobyl disaster, as the 25th anniversary of the event was marked last year. In countries such as Ukraine and Belarus the medical, social and environmental problems are still felt on a daily basis, and will be for another fifty years. Levels of cancers, heart disease, and social issues such as alcoholism and suicide, are high. There is a useful summary of the situation here, from the Chernobyl Children’s Project.

The anniversary of the accident is the 26th of April. How about praying for the affected countries in church on the 28th? Show the film Pripyat – city of the future (also available from Special 10) as background visuals while you pray.

Or if you want something a little more dynamic, you could show the video to London rapper Example’s ‘What we made’, filmed in the exclusion zone:
